CIRCULAR BIOCARBON’s City Interest Group welcomes new members

The City of Warsaw (Poland) and the DIADYMA SA, the Waste Authority of Western Macedonia (Greece) are the two newest members of the CIRCULAR BIOCARBON City Interest Group. LIPASAM, the municipal waste company of the City of Seville (Spain), the City of Mikkeli (Finland), the City of Lisbon (Portugal) and NATURKLIMA (Spain) were already part of the Group.

As part of the City Interest Group, these public authorities will closely follow developments within the project, and will learn from the CIRCULAR BIOCARBON approach, results and the technical expertise of consortium partners to potentially adopt a similar approach to waste management in their cities.

The City Interest Group also gives its members the opportunity to promote their work. In the latest CIG webinar on the separate collection of bio-waste, the Province of Gipuzkoa (as part of NATURKLIMA), Mikkeli, and Kozani (as part of DIADYMA SA), provided testimonials highlighting their targets and goals, main challenges, and key projects and initiatives to improve the collection of bio-waste.

Cities, urban authorities with an interest in valorising bio-waste and particularly in setting up a biorefinery, and rural local governments interested in developing the local bioeconomy in connection with the primary sector, can all become part of the City Interest Group. To apply to become a member of the City Interest Group, please complete the form below and send it to Simon Gresset (ICLEI Local Governments for Sustainability) at simon.gresset@iclei.org.
